Used this product on my daughter’s car when I refilled the manual transmission after removing and replacing it. And it has been performing excellently. Coming across the difference between GL-4 and GL-5 was the most vital info. GL-4 is used for manual transmission and transaxies whereas GL-5 is for differentials and transfer cases.

Though it took 15 minutes of driving to get it worked in but my manual shifting was smoother than before. Sprayed my drain plug two days earlier with WD40 to prevent difficulties with removal and it was easy. I drained a little and it was low then I put the drain plug back on. Used a clear tube and attached to a funnel and put end of tube into fill plug area. Then I put in close to 2 Qt till I noticed a leakage so I screwed it back.

Thereafter, I went for a drive and was impressed. I was pissed that recessed square for drain plug made me think a 3/8 will fit but it doesn’t. Meanwhile, in reality it’s 8mm square socket which I bought along with 10mm for 7.99.

This product is so awesome as I thought there was no chemical fix for mechanical problems but this gear oil did in my case. The cars I purchased were notorious for third gear synchronizer problems. Thus, there was a service bulletin by Honda that recommended replacing the synchronizer in transmissions requiring 12 hours of labor. I gave this product a try after reading some reviews on it and if fixed my 3rd gear problems. Plus, when it comes to shifting between all the gears, this synthetic gear oil is amazing.

As a result, there is no resistance at all after the change when shifting gears. Although this product isn’t a miracle for all transmission problems, but I will recommend it to car enthusiasts.

Decided to take a chance after reading lots of reviews on this product. Some reviews on Amazon states that Red Line helps while others claim it’s not good as the Honda MTF. Changed the fluid six months ago so it contained fresh Honda MTF. Checked to see if this will improve it and I’m happy to say it did. The shift lever moves more easily and smoothly. Though it’s a bit stiffer when cold but smooths out once the car warms up. In conclusion this product is subtle but noticeable, definitely worth the money.

There are arguments that thicker fluids such as this are simply a band-aid for difficult transmission. However, I didn’t see any particulate signs of wear even after blending the transmission many times. When I used OEM Honda fluid, it would return to its notchy nature after smoothen out for a week. This product was a great improvement and I will recommend you give it a shot.
